How to setup and connect for Windows 98 Demon Express USB ADSL Please see our Important Notice, we recommend that you read it before you proceed. To setup ADSL follow the steps below: Note: Do not connect your USB lead to your computer until the drivers are installed Insert the CD in to the CD-Rom drive, setup should start automatically If setup does not start automatically, double click My Computer > Double click the CD-Rom icon.
Above is the welcome screen to the Alcatel ADSL setup process.
Read the agreement, if you agree click Yes
If you are happy to install into the default directory click Next
Select a program folder.
The above screen shows the installation progress.
The above screen shows the installation has finished. Click Finish Connect the USB lead to your computer now.
Now Dial-Up Networking has to be setup. (In some cases the Alcatel software sets up dial-up networking automatically. If Dial-Up Netowrking is setup autmatically you can skip the next section if you wish: Double click My Computer and then Dial-Up Networking
Double click Make New Connection
In the field: Type a name for the computer you are dialing, enter Demon Express
Any number string can be entered into the area code and telephone number fields, as this is not used by ADSL,
Above is the confirmation screen.
You should now have an icon called Demon Express in Dial-Up Networking.
With the right mouse button - Right click the icon and select Properties
Click the tab named Server Types
In the advanced options section untick everything.
In the username field enter your ADSL username, this will have been issued to you by Demon Internet via your welcome letter.
