Speed
A THUS Dedicated Internet Access connection provides a range of bandwidth options from 2Mbps to 1000Mps as standard. As this service is uncontended and symmetric, subject to the overheads associated with carrying your traffic, you would have all of this bandwidth in both directions without having to share it.

No Contention
Unlike many broadband services, you won't share the bandwidth you purchase. This is critical when hosting Internet services, as you need to ensure that the upstream bandwidth (the bandwidth that you can push out) is only available to the users of your services.

Standards of Service
With a service level agreement offering uptime of 99.90% to 99.95% depending on the service you choose, you can be sure you can rely on this connection.

Installation Support
Presentation on your THUS Dedicated Internet Access connection will be dependent on the service purchased. Internet Leased Line options will be presented as X21, although these can be provided as G703 if required.

We are able to provide you with a fully configured router if required with full manufacturer’s warranty. If, however, you already have a router it will be your responsibility to configure it.

We also offer supported and fully managed router options, as described below.

Supported and Managed Routers
A managed/supported router for your Dedicated Internet Access connection provides you with not only peace of mind, but also reporting that can help you understand your use of the service. From installation to support, a managed/supported router service lets you concentrate on your core business safe in the knowledge that if you ever encounter a problem it will be dealt with as quickly and efficiently as possible. This option has telephone support 24 hours a day.

With options available for on-site support, managed install and remote configuration changes, this provides a comprehensive managed router solution.

ISDN Back-up
ISDN Back-up is available to those customers that have purchased one of our routers available with an ISDN card. This ensures that, in the unlikely event that you experience problems with your THUS Dedicated Internet Access circuit, you will have a "fail-over" mechanism that provides continuing Internet connectivity at 128Kbps. (Customers must provision their own ISDN2e in order for this service to operate).

Email Server Back-up Service
THUS Dedicated Internet Access customers are generally expected to run their own mail servers. However, in the event that your servers become unavailable, mail will be received and stored on Demon’s mail relays, which will continue trying to deliver them for a further 7 days via SMTP. This provides a high degree of protection, even when your mail server is down for maintenance*.

* This period must not exceed 7 days.

IP Address Assignment
If you choose to buy a Demon supplied router you can have it configured as either NAT or non-NAT. With this, you can also request an IP allocation of 4, 8 or 16 IP addresses. (Please be aware that, for internal routing reasons, useable IP addresses would be 1, 5 or 13.)

Larger IP allocations are available on request, but proof of usage is required by the organization that administers IP addresses.
